This is where I -- artist, novelist and curmudgeon, William James Johnson -- hang out. Drop in to find out how much mischief an old guy like me can get into.

I walk five miles every day in the beautiful park across the road. I have regular friends who in our discussions are trying to solve the world's problems. So far we haven't found any answers. But the journey keeps going on.

What is a Noozoon?

I thought you would never ask. About three years ago, I began getting seriously involved in Digital Photography. This new technology opened a brand new opportunity to investigate an unlimited image making resource. As a professional visual artist for over 40 years, I felt I had discovered the mother lode. Eventually I focused on natural fauna in all its manifestations. It was this specific theme which suddenly let me venture beyond the surface of living creatures, and I began entertaining my self by exchanging animal parts in my digital manipulations. And that was when the concept of "Noozoon" was born.

It is a word which I coined by using Noo to take the place of "new" and joined it with Zoo the root word of life, and all living things. So the answer to the question in the title is "Noozoon" means "New Life", and you will see when you visit the Noozoon site at www.noozoon.com what a vast collection of fascinating creatures are now the life of my art.

My web page is available on several search engines, and is particularly well represented by Google. The aim of all this effort is to provide children with an interesting collectible which they can download and make sets of these characters for themselves and their friends.

Also on this site is a detailed biography of my artistic career, with several examples of my portrait painting. There is a free download of a noozoon group which demonstrates the fine printing quality of this collection. And don't forget to read the free chapters of my novel "The Trees Hold Up the Sky." While I have your attention, please let me acknowledge the tremendous amount of help provided by my brilliant friend Sieg Pedde, better known to some of you by his "Atavist" blogs. Don't miss this man's inciteful writing. He sets a high standard for all blogists.

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog. Any, and all comments are welcome. William James Johnson (Noozoon)

Very punny, William. Yes, my writing is in all likelihood inciteful. Inciteful to what, I'm not sure. To protest and action, I hope. On occasion, I hope I am insightful as well, but that's for others to judge.
